Artist Raymond Pettibon’s gestural combinations of text and drawing once illustrated bands such as Sonic Youth and Black Flag, and while Pettibon is far from forsaking his punk rock roots, he’s just as frequently focused on a thing altogether different but no less riotous: surfing.
