The summer of ‘69. Four young American designers strolled down the cobble stone streets of Madrid eventually stumbling upon an old Spanish tradition :”The running of the bulls.” After tighten up their shoe laces, they began running with the natives. A young boy behind them kept yelling “cabeza de toro” (head of the bull). A dedication to a life lived fast.

My best guess for BullHead’s label is the realization that you could do anything in these jeans like take the chance of being your own Matador and pull Life’s unpredictable “BULL” by its horns, then wave a crimson cape like victory flag in its face and not let it get torn or one might as well suffer a bloody death like the day they were born. Not only does a BullHead denim wearer take Life’s “BULL” (as in B.S. life throws at ya) head-on, they’d rather pull and drag it along in their favorite pair of jeans.

The Cherokee Nation was searching for a new chief to lead their tribe. They desired someone strong and powerful to sustain the group through the long winter. Young Bullhead was not particularly strong or powerful but he was a magician when it came to sewing the traditional clothing. Young Bullhead made dark blue pants for all the tribe to wear. They were miraculously warm and the tribe made it through the cold winter in them. The Cherokee were amazed at how fashionable and practical these “jeans” were and elected Young Bullhead as chief. Long live Chief Bullhead and long live denim jeans!
Bullhead catfish have the ability to thrive in waters that are low in oxygen, high in salt, clouded by mud and particles, and are very warm. Like a bullhead, you blossom even when out of your natural element while wearing these jeans. Although it may not be the most respected fish…wearing these jeans, you’ll look like the only fish in the sea.
So Pac Sun employees were taking a roadtrip across the US to see the fashion trends that are springing up. While driving the crew got lost and ended up in a small town in South Dakota. This tiny town was full of life and full of young beautiful people. The Pac Sun employees noticed that these beautiful people were all wearing a variety of jeans that were not only functional but fashionable. Pac Sun decided to take the name of that small to represent a jean line….. BullHead, their jeans- functional, fashionable, and great for everyday wear.
Bullheaded individuals, Bullheads, can be gravediggers or saints, mischievous butterflies, restless spirits, droll carnivores or spritely vegetarians. Bullheads can surf, swim, hang upside down and spit watermelon seeds super far. Their willful perseverance and headstrong personalities make the world their oyster. Slipping on Bullhead jeans causes entirely the same effect.
Once upon a time there was a Bull named Bear. He sat on his bed, in his underwear. Thinking in his head, “Where, oh where, have my denims gone? Were they lost in the wind, did I leave them on the lawn? I need my denim pants, they turn my head from bull to human. For this is my only chance, to fit in with that woman. That woman whom I’ll love, always and forever. But she won’t ever love me, if she can’t see how I’m clever. I will find my jeans and get rid of this bullhead. Get the girl of my dreams, and be human till death ends.” This is the love story of a worried bull, afraid his sweetheart would never find him cool. His denims were passed down, generation after generation. Till finally a human stumbled upon them, full of admiration. The human made duplicates and sold them to a store, where customers can’t get enough and buy more, more, more. The store admired the bulls strive, to create jeans of perfection, so they named the collection, Bullhead Denim. That is how these jeans got their name, and without this story, there would be no one to proclaim the creator of the bullhead denims.
There was a man named Bullhead Billy. Everyone called him bullhead because he was so hard headed. While watching the surf he sat on the beach and started to draw many designs. When he was done he realized he had drawn a whole collection of jeans which he decided to call the Bullhead Collection.
A girl was sitting on the crest of a beach on day, it was dusk and the sunlight created a full spectrum of colors over the waves as they broke. She had just created a line of jeans in her despair of having her heart broken by her (ex) boyfriend. She wanted a name that reflected the gorgeous, free spirited women who would represent the jeans she worked so hard to design. She closed her eyes…. She pictured girls running throughout a field near the beach, at once ideas swam through her mind. He thought of the perfect name to reflect what Bullhead jeans are all about. She chose to name the jeans Bullhead-after the famous saying that described the Bettys who wore them. She hoped that the Bettys who wore them would take inspiration and all eventually (at one point), grab the bull by its horns.
Her brothers had told her all her life that her ideas were bull. Needless to say, when they grew up, they went their separate ways and hardly spoke. One day, her oldest brother was in a bad motorcycle accident. She and her other brother made their way to the hospital. When they heard that their brother had some memory loss, she said he may need to see a counselor. Her brother informed her that this idea was bull, he had a head injuries but he’d remember everything. The combination of bull and head in the same sentence caught her attention. Though her brothers never knew, she could not thank them enough for the inspiration that became the Bullhead Jeans collection.
Once upon a time, there was a land where no one wear bluejean pants. The women could not walk or run or have any kind of fun. Because of the long skirts they wore, their lives were really such a bore. In this long skirt wearing world, there was a girl- named Susie Pearl, but everybody called her Bull. They said she was bullheaded ’cause she refused to follow the land’s skirt laws. Susie was a rebel and she alone changed the land, by sewing a pair of jeans by hand. And when all her sisters, neighbors, friends saw those awesome blue jean pants, they knew that it was time to change. So now they all wear Bullhead jeans
