YES, I DO

Have you heard of The Do? (I actually think it’s pronounced “Doe,” as in “Doe, a deer.”) I’m obsessed with the female singer’s voice. I believe her name is Olivia B.Merilahti—and Dan Levy is the other band member. I randomly heard “The Bridge is Broken” on L.A.’s KCRW (my fave), immediately fell in love and searched high and low for a way to download it. They aren’t on iTunes but you’ll find their album (A Mouthful) if you look hard enough.

A couple weeks ago I had my friend, French surfer Amandine Sanchez stay with me during the U.S. Open and apparently she’d seen them play at the Biarritz Roxy Jam back on her home shores this summer. She was in love, too. I’m not sure where they’re from but she said they parlent Français. (They were speaking French.)—CS
